Overview
The Sheekey family Came from Co Louth in Ireland entering the United States through Castle Garden, New York. Initially they settled in New Jersey but soon relocated to Newport, Rhode Island where many of the family still remain. The Peacock family came from Ireland and emigrated to Saint John, NB, Canada. Many of this family immigrated to the "Boston States" and are now living in the United States.
Dursey Island is a small island situated at the western tip of the Beara Peninsula in the west of County Cork. The island is uninhabited and connected to the mainland by cable car. The O'Sullivan family came from this lovely island and settled in Fall River, Massachusetts where they worked in the mills.
